I was born and raised in LaVista, Nebraska. My dad was in the military so we lived near Offutt AFB which is the headquarters for the Air Force. I received my undergrad degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Winston-Salem State University located in Winston-Salem, NC. I received my Master’s degree in Education from the University of NC at Charlotte.I am currently working on my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of NC at Charlotte. I will be graduating in May 2016.

Have you always wanted to teach?

No, I actually did not plan on becoming a teacher. My initial life plan was to join the military like my father. My mother encouraged me to go to college instead. I actually loved what I was doing as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Several life changing events led me to the field of education.

I’m originally from a small town- Cheverly, Maryland - just outside of Washington, DC.I moved south to attend Appalachian State, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and my master’s degree in Instructional Technology. I’m getting ready to start at UNCC to earn my add-on certificate for School Administration.

Have you always wanted to teach?

I think so. I took a few detours along the way and tried a few different majors in college, but I think I was always meant to be a teacher.

I am originally from Cabarrus County and graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High. I attended Gardner-Webb University for undergrad and UNCG for my Master's.

Have you always wanted to teach?

I always knew I would have a role in Education, I just wasn’t sure what it would be and with what age group which probably explains why I’ve been a classroom teacher, AIG support and Media Coordinator for grades K-12.

This past February I earned my Masters in Education – Curriculum Instruction – Integrating Through the Arts from Lesley University.

Have you always wanted to teach?

I have wanted to teach since I was a little girl. You might say that I was inspired by my mother who was also an educator. I have fond memories of playing “school” with my friends and teddy bears.

Born and raised in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Graduated from The Ohio State University in 1984 with a B.S. in Architecture. Moved to Charlotte in 1985 to escape northeastern Ohio winters and find work in a rapidly growing city. Spent the next 25 years in the Architecture and Construction industries in Charlotte and Concord, moving to Cabarrus County in 1993.

Have you always wanted to teach?

No, but I have always enjoyed teaching, be it through coaching athletics or leading Sunday School classes. I began to think about teaching when I was made aware of the Lateral Entry program while participating in the 2001 Cabarrus Leadership Program.

I am originally from a little town in upstate New York called Horseheads. After graduating from High School, I attended Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.

Have you always wanted to teach?

Ever since I can remember! My grandmother still tells stories of how when I was little (3-4 yrs. old) I would line my stuff animals up on her stairs and “teach” them. My brother and sister still pick on me because I spent all my free-time teaching who ever and whatever would listen.

I am originally from Winston-Salem, NC. I graduated from Appalachian State University.

Have you always wanted to teach?

I have wanted to be a teacher since kindergarten. Growing up I always admired my aunt and uncle because they were teachers. I played school every chance I could with my younger brother as my student. He didn’t quite like school as much as me.

I am from Richfield N.C., but I currently live in Gold Hill, N.C. with my wife and family. I received my BA in Elementary Education from Pfeiffer University and I am currently in graduate school at Gardner-Webb, working on my Masters in Educational Leadership.

Have you always wanted to teach?

I originally thought I wanted to be a Highway Patrolman, but after my first semester at Pfeiffer I began working at a summer school youth program and realized that this was the path that God was laying in front of me. I realized that I was blessed with the gift to be able to have a positive influence on the lives of the young people that I work with. As a teacher, role model and coach, I am able to lead by example and I am also able to use real world events to teach life lessons. I feel strongly that my teaching experience, along with my military background, has prepared me to be a leader and a role model for the students at Concord Middle School.

I am from Charlotte North Carolina. I received my Masters of Library Science from East Carolina
University.

Have you always wanted to teach?

Not until the last decade…I have had many different jobs from sales representative to event planner for the Southern Women’s Show in Nashville, Richmond, Orlando, and the Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte. I knew that I wanted to have a career that allowed me to have the same “time off” as my children and I received an opportunity from my tribe (I am American Indian from the Lumbee Tribe of NC) that offered any student to return to school for one semester. So I found library science to be intriguing and pursued this career. Ever since I have changed into this career (2009) I have had no regrets (well maybe one - that I didn’t pursue it earlier in life). I love being a librarian and I love the opportunity to not only have students in the entire school be my community, but the teachers too. It is a great job.
